To support our growing operations, we are seeking a Mechanical Workshop Supervisor to manage and ensure the efficiency of our workshop dedicated to maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities
As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Planning, coordinating, and supervising the daily activities of the mechanical workshop.
- Leading, motivating, and evaluating the team of mechanics and apprentices (training, coaching, adherence to work standards).
- Monitoring repairs and preventive maintenance of heavy vehicles, trailers, and forklifts.
- Prioritizing tasks according to operational needs (emergencies, breakdowns, scheduled maintenance).
- Ensuring the quality of work and compliance with safety and regulatory standards (federal and provincial).
- Managing inventory of parts, equipment, and tools, and recommending necessary purchases.
- Collaborating with operations and health & safety departments to ensure a safe and efficient fleet.
- Preparing and analyzing performance and maintenance reports.
Desired Profile
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in heavy vehicle mechanics, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
- Strong knowledge of heavy vehicles, transport equipment, and workshop management software (an asset).
- Excellent team management and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Commitment to health, safety, and quality of work.
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve problems quickly.
