MECHANICAL WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR

To support our growing operations, we are seeking a Mechanical Workshop Supervisor to manage and ensure the efficiency of our workshop dedicated to maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Planning, coordinating, and supervising the daily activities of the mechanical workshop.
• Leading, motivating, and evaluating the team of mechanics and apprentices (training, coaching, adherence to work standards).
• Monitoring repairs and preventive maintenance of heavy vehicles, trailers, and forklifts.
• Prioritizing tasks according to operational needs (emergencies, breakdowns, scheduled maintenance).
• Ensuring the quality of work and compliance with safety and regulatory standards (federal and provincial).
• Managing inventory of parts, equipment, and tools, and recommending necessary purchases.
• Collaborating with operations and health & safety departments to ensure a safe and efficient fleet.
• Preparing and analyzing performance and maintenance reports.

Desired Profile

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in heavy vehicle mechanics, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
• Strong knowledge of heavy vehicles, transport equipment, and workshop management software (an asset).
• Excellent team management and interpersonal communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Commitment to health, safety, and quality of work.
• Ability to work under pressure and resolve problems quickly.
