Under the supervision of the IT Director, the Network & Infrastructure Technician is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the company’s network and security equipment, while also contributing to the support and maintenance of the IT environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the company’s network equipment.
Administer network switches, including the configuration of VLANs, trunks, ports, and other features required for the proper operation of the infrastructure.
Administer and maintain FortiGate firewalls and the various components of the Fortinet environment.
Participate in the administration and maintenance of FortiAnalyzer and FortiAuthenticator.
Ensure the proper operation of the company’s wireless networks, including access points, RF antennas, and controllers.
Diagnose wireless network coverage, connectivity, and performance issues.
Participate in the configuration and maintenance of VPNs, remote access, and network authentication mechanisms.
Monitor the performance, availability, and security of the network infrastructure and proactively address issues.
Diagnose and resolve network problems involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and firewalls.
Participate in the deployment and installation of network equipment across the company’s various offices.
Keep network infrastructure documentation up to date, including configurations, network diagrams, inventories, and procedures.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the security and reliability of the network infrastructure.
Provide IT support to users for workstations, software, peripherals, and IT equipment.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to Windows environments.
Provide basic support for Windows servers and Microsoft services.
Participate in the management of users, groups, and computers in Active Directory.
Handle service requests and incidents using the ticketing system.
Collaborate with other IT team members on incidents or projects involving systems, networks, or security.
Perform any other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Hold a DEC or DEP in IT, networking, or another relevant field of education.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT, including significant experience with enterprise networking.
Good knowledge of networking principles: TCP/IP, IP addressing, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, LDAP, and RADIUS.
Experience administering and configuring enterprise network switches.
Good knowledge of FortiGate firewalls and the Fortinet ecosystem.
Knowledge of FortiAnalyzer and FortiAuthenticator is a strong asset.
Good knowledge of Wi-Fi and RF technologies in an enterprise environment.
Ability to diagnose network connectivity, performance, and coverage issues.
Knowledge of VPN technologies and network authentication mechanisms.
Strong knowledge of Windows workstations.
Basic knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and GPO.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365.
Knowledge of VMware virtualized environments is an asset.
Knowledge of network analysis and diagnostic tools.
Comfortable with the physical installation and replacement of network equipment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Autonomous, resourceful, and proactive.
Strong customer-service approach when supporting internal users.
Ability to properly document work performed and changes made.
Functional English skills to communicate with certain suppliers and consult technical documentation.
Valid driver’s license.
